When laying products in a Roman or Magna Opus pattern, the grout gap between tiles will vary. Dry lay a few modules before tiling commences in order to ascertain the optimum spacing. This variation is lost when the tiles are laid and grouted.
If fixing a Free Length pattern then joints should be staggered by a minimum of around 100mm.
When fixing a material externally, the choice of whether to seal or not becomes one of personal preference combined with considerations of the installation environment. Many people choose to leave the stone unsealed and let it weather naturally with time. As it weathers the stone will gain character and develop a look all its own. If sealing is required then a combination of Fila Hydrorep & Fila Fob should be used, although it is imperative that adequate provision for drainage is allowed.
