Designed to frame geometric floors with definition and authenticity, the Portman Black & White Border tile draws inspiration from traditional Victorian layouts commonly seen in grand villas and modest terraces alike. The striking contrast of black and white enhances pattern clarity, providing structure and balance to tiled schemes, working in harmony with the Portman Black & White 100x100mm tiles to form a classic central field. This porcelain tile with a refined matt finish delivers the appearance of heritage tiles with the performance required for modern living, indoors or out. When paired with the matching Portman Corner tile, it helps define hallways and entrance porches, completing a cohesive and elegant flooring design.

Please note: The Portman range consists of 6 mm thick porcelain tiles. They can be used indoors and outdoors, but we recommend contacting us for guidance before specifying for outdoor flooring, especially in high-traffic or exposed locations.

Installation

Adhesive: For the best results, use a high-performance adhesive specially formulated for the dense composition of porcelain tiles.
Grout: We provide a broad selection of Ardex tile grouts that are flexible, water-repellent, and available in a wide range of colours, perfect for matching or contrasting with your tiles.
Sealing: While porcelain tiles themselves do not require sealing, applying a grout protector is recommended to help safeguard the grout lines.

Maintenance
Use a pH-neutral cleaner like Fila Cleaner to maintain your tiles. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive tools that could damage the surface.

Delivery

We offer fast, reliable delivery across the UK & Ireland using our own specialised fleet alongside an external pallet service.

Delivery availability & charges

Orders are typically delivered within 3-5 working days, with delivery date and costs confirmed at checkout.
Most deliveries take place between 8:00 am and 5:30 pm, Monday to Friday, excluding Bank Holidays.
Delivery charges depend on the size and weight of your order and are shown separately from product prices to keep our tiles competitively priced.
Delivery to UK mainland starts at £45 per crate, which covers up to approximately 1000 kg.
Parcel delivery charges (UK mainland only):
Up to 5kg – £4.12 | Up to 10kg – £6.62 | Up to 20kg – £8.29
A.M. deliveries (8:00 am–1:00 pm) are available for an additional £18 + VAT, subject to area.

Further information

Someone must be available to accept, sign for, and safely store the goods, which the driver will place at the nearest accessible point, such as the driveway or kerbside.
Special orders, slabs, large-format tiles, some bathware, and sizeable orders are usually delivered using specialist off-load vehicles, which may increase delivery times.
UK Mainland deliveries exclude the Republic of Ireland, Northern Ireland, Channel Islands, and the Scottish Highlands, please contact our Sales Team for these areas.

Returns

We hope you love your Mandarin Stone products, but if not, we offer a 30-day returns policy.

Goods must be returned within 7 days of receiving authorisation.
Return address: Mandarin Stone, Unit 1 Wonastow Road Industrial Estate, Monmouth, NP25 5JB.
All returns must be scheduled in advance and made between 8:30 AM and 4:00 PM, Monday to Friday.
Please clearly mark the returns number on all packages, boxes, crates, and pallets.
Tiles are fragile, so please ensure packaging is secure; refunds will not be issued if items or packaging are returned in unsaleable condition.
Refunds for resalable goods will be processed within 10 days, minus a 20% restocking fee.
