Marble-effect tiles

Discover an affordable, low-maintenance alternative to real marble that’s as elegant as it is practical

Have you had a browse of our marble-effect tiles yet? If you love the look of this luxurious stone but need a slightly more budget-friendly option, then our wide range of porcelain alternatives could be the solution.

The beauty of marble is that it’s so timeless, it’s always on trend. Because of this, it’s always a safe bet if you want to invest in a tiling scheme that will look good for many years to come. In addition to the vast array of real marble tiles in our collection, we’ve harnessed the power of the latest digital technology to create marble-effect porcelain tiles with an incredibly realistic finish.

While real marble tiles need sealing to protect them from water absorption and surface staining, marble-effect tiles require no special treatment at all. They’re easy to maintain and can be produced in both thinner and larger formats, so they’re ideal for use as wall tiles as well as on floors. Some options even have surfaces that feel just like the brushed texture of real marble underfoot, such as our Arena and Monaco ranges. To discover more stylish and practical marble alternatives, read on.

1. OPT FOR TILES THAT MIMIC RARE STONE

Our eye-catching Gemstone range is the latest addition to our marble-effect tiles collection and draws inspiration from the incredible colours, striking banding and subtle lustre of natural onyx. Available in five shades – from shell pink to teal green – these porcelain designs are ideal for use as marble-effect bathroom tiles due to their matt, high-grip finish. Use in one area to create a focal feature, or apply to walls and as floor tiles for a more maximalist approach.

2. REPLICATE THE EFFECT OF CLASSIC MARBLE

If you’re on the hunt for a marble-look tile to work within a neutral scheme, then our Paloma or Luca ranges could be for you. Paloma is perfect for warmer palettes, with an ivory colourway that’s reminiscent of pale linen, as well as a richer cream variant. Darker veining breaks up the surface of both shades, which are available in gloss or matt. For a stronger neutral, marble-effect tile, try Luca, which comes in both warm and cool-grey tones with lighter surface veining.

3. PLAY WITH SYMMETRICAL PATTERNS

Another benefit of digitally produced, marble-effect bathroom tiles, is that some designs allow you to play with the orientation to create arresting symmetrical patterns. Both our Capri and Mimica Ravenna collections feature this ‘bookmatch’ design, which, combined with their large format, creates impressive motifs that will enliven walls and floors. With options in gloss and matt finishes, these stunning marble-effect tiles are also ideal for kitchens, corridors and entrance halls.

4. TRY MARBLE EFFECT TILES IN EARTHY TONES

Searching for marble-style tile in richer, earthier hues? Look no further than our Silica range, which boasts a wonderfully warm taupe colourway, as well as stormy charcoal and pale grey. The mineral-esque veining and textural finish add to this tile’s supremely realistic aesthetic. Consider using them as marble-effect kitchen tiles for a deep and moody colour palette, or combine them with other tactile tiles in complementing shades for a restful bathroom scheme.

5. CHOOSE MONOCHROME, MARBLE-LOOK STRIPES

To combine the elegance of a marbled tile with the impact of chevron stripes, choose our Piazza tiles in Nero and Bianco. Together, these marble-effect floor tiles create a monochrome stripe design that makes a serious statement. For a softer – but equally striking – option, mix in light grey tiles from the same collection to create a playful, irregular pattern. Or, to keep things simple, choose a single colour to create a classic herringbone motif that looks great on walls as well as floors.

6. GO BOLD WITH LARGE-SCALE PATTERNS

We love the effect that oversized marbling will have on any space, from generously proportioned bathrooms or kitchens to the most compact of cloakrooms. Our Violetta Nouveau tiles are an excellent match for their real stone counterpart, featuring a swirling large-scale pattern that blends deep purple with warm brown and soft, greenish tones. For something equally bold, and with added colour, consider our Portofino design, which conjures up images of stormy seascapes with its wave-like bands of greyish blue.

7. ADD SOME GREEN FOR A GLAMOROUS SCHEME

For some old-fashioned glamour that feels right on trend, go for a green marble-effect tile. Two of our favourite designs that mimic the look of real marble are Paradise and Amazon, both of which combine bold motifs with a verdant backdrop. For a deep, dark forest green, choose Amazon, which blends lush colours with black and white to dramatic effect. If you’d prefer something brighter, then our Paradise marble-effect porcelain tile fuses bands of chartreuse with greyish greens and mossy tones for marbling with a host of tonal variation.

8. SUPERSIZE YOUR MARBLE-EFFECT TILES

If large-format tiles are top of your wish list, we’ve got you covered. Our Mimica RavennaMonaco and Arena marble-effect collections are available as impressively proportioned tiles that are ideal for covering large expanses of floor or wall. Even in smaller spaces, a large-format tile can help a space feel bigger as there are fewer grout lines to carve up the room. Don’t forget that our Monaco and Arena collections also have a surface texture that feels remarkably similar to that of real marble too – an innovative quality that further enhances their appeal.
