8 new inspirational bathroom designs

Wanting to refresh your bathroom and unsure where to start? From earth tones and rustic textures to boldly coloured marble tiles and elegant parquet, there are so many different ways to create the perfect bathroom design to suit your style. The following ideas that feature our very latest New Tile Collections are guaranteed to inspire…

1. Wonders with Wood

Practical, stylish wood effect porcelain tiles are nothing new when it comes to surface design but more recent introductions of panelled or slated wood effect tiles have taken them to the next level. Adding both warmth and texture Riga Honey Slat Décor Wood Effect Ceramic creates an organic feel in this bathroom. Paired here with Malmo Brushed Marble Effect Porcelain, a striking large format porcelain that mimics the look and texture of angular and varied breccia-like stones, the combination is modern yet inviting.

2. Tactile Textures

There’s nothing quite like clean white tiled shower walls to keep a bathroom feeling fresh and contemporary. Here the Stix White Matt Ceramic wall tiles have a linear design to add texture and interest, to otherwise slightly sterile walls. The contrasting bold red skirting of the Stix Berry Matt Ceramic elevates the design and creates the link between the softer orange-red tones of the Rosso Tumbled Marble flooring. The antique tumbled finish of the Rosso Marble adds a more authentic feel to the space.

3. Unexpected Combinations

Subtle toned porcelain tiles that cleverly replicate traditional travertine are certainly having their moment, especially those with linear vein striations that can draw the eye such as the Tivoli Ivory Linear Matt Stone Effect Porcelain (Front Wall) & Tivoli Sand Linear Matt Stone Effect Porcelain (Back Wall) shown here. Combining different materials in the same space such as stone effect porcelain and real marble needs careful consideration. However here, the boldly veined, fabricated Violetta Marble door surround works beautifully against the soft tones of the porcelain tiles, resulting in an elegant shower room design.

4. Breaking the Rules

Whilst it’s true that using the same large format tiles can make a small space feel roomier, we don’t feel these conventional concepts should always be strictly adhered to, especially over design. These Outline White/Black Matt Linear Décor Ceramic add visual interest in a small space and can be laid in a multitude of ways allowing you to create your own unique design. The monochrome colour way perfectly contrasts against the warmth of the red bathroom vanity.

5. Stick to Neutrals

Sticking to neutral shades in a bathroom can allow you to play more with size and texture. Here, both the Riga Chevron Décor Stone Effect Ceramic and Sawn Sand Stone Effect Porcelain are large format tiles with subtle yet eye-catching surface details. Sawn has a surface graphic replicating traditionally ‘cut’ stone whilst the Riga has a more contemporary ‘chevron’ surface design and texture. By keeping tones neutral the space feels interesting yet completely cohesive.

6. Retro Styling

Who can resist these cool retro fixtures and fittings and bold red and pink tones to create a fun, statement bathroom. Resist the urge to go to bold with your tiles too if other bathroom elements are going to take centre stage. Keep tiles simple in tone such as the soft terracotta flooring of Valencia Terra Matt Terracotta Effect Porcelain paired with the Picket and the Garda Grey Stone effect Porcelain wall tiles with their subtle tan veining that link the two. The tiles certainly add character but are just paired back enough to tie the overall design together perfectly without being overbearing.

7. Colour Pop

An impactful bathroom with a fun use of colour will always put a smile on your face. These extra elongated Loki Pink Gloss Ceramic brick tiles allow the strong pink tones to still feel elegant and the lustrous glaze cleverly bounces light around the narrow shower, making it feel more spacious. The horizontal black Paintbox Ebony Gloss Ceramic Pencil moulding breaks the strong vertical lines and perfectly pairs with the Chaplin Spiro Matt Porcelain monochrome patterned tiled floor.

8. Soft Green Stripes

Rightly so, green tones have certainly earned their place as one of the top shades when it comes to bathroom tiles. Derived from nature, green tones are both calming and energising when it comes to interior design. These slender Alba Sage Gloss Ceramic bricks have an organic, rustic feel and a beautiful, almost hand-made texture ad glaze. To create a more modern feel they have been laid in an attractive stripe design in the shower enclosure. This distinct tile layout also zones the shower from other areas of the bathroom, where the classic Alba White Gloss Ceramic has been used throughout.
