Textured calm

Camilla Smith

A thoughtful mix of gloss, marble and soft neutrals brings quiet depth to this considered bathroom scheme.

Balance sits at the centre of the design. Hoxton Olive Gloss Porcelain lines the shower in rich, tonal greens, its glazed surface catching the light and adding subtle movement. Laid vertically, these glossy porcelain tiles draw the eye upward, subtly enhancing the sense of height.

In contrast, Violetta Nouveau Matt Marble-Effect Porcelain introduces softness underfoot and across the vanity wall. Creamy tones and expressive veining echo the character of natural marble, grounding the scheme while keeping it light. The matt finish tempers the shine of the glazed brick, ensuring the space feels layered rather than busy.

Brushed brass fittings run throughout, warming the palette and tying the two surfaces together. Against muted painted walls, the combination feels resolved — layered, but never overpowering.

The result is a bathroom built on contrast, yet defined by balance. Gloss and grain. Depth and softness. Each element plays its part, creating a space that feels refined and easy to live with.
